What You Do Is Camp, You'll Never Be Glamour!

When I found out this year’s Met Gala’s theme, “Camp: Notes on Fashion” I immediately thought of Mimi’s fight with Shangela on Rupaul’s Drag Race season 3.

That’s the only reason why I knew right off the bat what “camp” meant, I mean can’t get more camp than Mimi having lips drawn around her eyes.

So what is camp? Camp is DRAMA, over the top, the more the better. Basically the opposite of glamour and good taste! Think feathers, prints, sequins, glitter, big silhouettes. Oh and just in case you didn’t get the hint, camp has deep roots in drag culture. I wonder if the recent popularity of Drag Race had something to do with this year’s theme.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram you know that the Met Gala is my favorite red carpet of the year! Specially because it gives me a valid opportunity to talk shit about all these celeb’s outfits. I mean do some of these people even do their research? And why does Anna Wintour keep inviting the same people who can’t even serve a look?

Anyways, here are 25 looks that serve Camp realness.

Honestly, I’m really hoping that everyone goes all the way this year with their outfits. I mean the theme is so easy, you can’t go wrong.

If I see a train or another boring lace dress I will literally kill myself. Also, why does Rita Ora keep getting invited, like what does she actually do? Sing?
