Resort 2020 Fashion
The days when a brand would only show a collection for Spring/Summer and Fall/Winner are long gone. It’s a whole new era, they can’t expect to stay relevant by only doing two shows. Meaning, now we have Resort and Pre-Fall collections to keep up with. At least we’re only keeping up with them and not actually coming up with them, I can already imagine how exhausting and stressful that must be.
So what exactly is a Resort collection? It’s the transition collection that comes right after the Fall/Winter clothes go on sale and right before the Spring/Winter clothes come in. So pretty much what you’ll see in store in starting around November/December.
How about Pre-Fall? Well, that’s very self explanatory, it’s the transition collection between Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter.
So why are the Resort collections so important? We’ll these are the pieces that are the most “wearable” and are what buyers are looking for in order to capitalize on the Thanksgiving holiday and all the way through Christmas. Resort collections have become so important for vendors on a mainstream level, as they remain the longest on the floor at full price up until the next mid-season as opposed to Spring/Summer
Let me start by saying that I am in love with this year’s Resort collections, from Balmain’s black and white color palette and Fendi’s earth tones to Dior’s use of mixed prints.
