MIXT
I was invited to a preview MIXT, a fast-casual restaurant on a mission to bring better eating to everyone, in the form of salads, grain bowls, and market plates. It just opened its new location in the heart of Silver Lake.
MIXT’s goal is to make accessing healthy, delicious meals as convenient as possible – which is why their Silver Lake location will have a Salad Valet (#Salet) at our service for curbside pickup of online orders. I mean that’s the kind of fast food drive thru I’m actually down for!
All cooking and preparation done on-site: MIXT shucks the corn, grills the sustainable steelhead, roasts the locally-sourced Brussels sprouts – all from scratch at the restaurant! We tried one of their three seasonal salad, Equinox. In fact they change their seasonal salads menu four times a year. We also had their tofu banh sandwich, consisted of a delicious marinated organic tofu. We also decided no make our own plate, with roasted Columbia river steelhead with a spicy Korean Bbq sauce on the side, roasted brussels sprouts, mashed sweet potatoes.
All three dishes were delicious, but my top favorite was out bowl mainly because the roasted Columbia river steelhead was absolutely delicious.
They also had this amazing turmeric ginger lemonade which only paired so well with the flavors of our dishes. Oh and if you’re a kombucha fan, they have kombucha on tap.
